While still in the Federal University of Paraná, the student Raphael Pires de Campos, founded Thalassa Floors in 1990, aiming to execute small industrial sheds for his own family. Realizing a shortage in the market, he sought references in literatures of technologies in Germany. At that time, the company used vibratory finishers and electrical rules, available in the market.

Executing some industrial floors with satisfactory results, using the “checkers” process, there was demand for some public contractors for implementation of some multi-sports courts at the “Ruas da Cidadania” project which was being implemented in Curitiba.

In 1996, after finishing his post graduate studies in project management from FGV-S.P., the engineer Raphael Campos of Thalassa was hired to manage the demolition of the R.F.F.S.A. building and management of the construction of the Estação Plaza Show, with 72,000 .00 square meters building. Noting again the lack of local technology in the execution of industrial standard floors, went to São Paulo and closed a commercial agreement with a nationwide company, focused 100% on industrial floors. This company had executed hundreds of thousands of square meters all over Brazil, and owned epoxy painting and coating technology. Then, the opportunity to execute the floors for “Extra Hypermarket” and the concrete floors of Volvo Trucks of Brazil, cabins buildings has happened. By this time, Thalassa had already executed more than 120,000.00 square meters of floors in just 12 months.

In 1998, the partner from São Paulo that had technology transfer agreements with Thalassa was incorporated by the world leader in the sector of epoxy paints and coatings, fitting the Thalassa only the responsibility to execute concrete floors and give general technical support in the area of coatings since the selling of the partner company with all its staff.

Thalassa changed from a company offering concrete floors with high flatness with only 3 specification options of epoxy finishings, to offer more than 30 floor finishing options. It was revolutionary in the domestic market. Thalassa had reached the next level.

Years of work and millions of square meters executed of concrete and epoxy floors later, a labor specialization for applying epoxy paint was due, some specifications that the American company couldn’t execute. The demand for Thalassa services grew fast, and with the know-how acquired the company could now offer the market something much better, with shotblasters for surface preparation, degreasers, descalers, neutralisers and a wide range of products far beyond what was previously executed.

The years passed and Thalassa became affiliated with the Portland Cement Association (PCI-P.C.I.), the American Concrete Institute (ACI-A.C.I.) and the International Polishing Concrete Institute (IPCI – I.P.C.I.) in 2009, being the the only company approved throughout Latin America.

In 2008 the possibility of acquiring the only Superscreed machine in Brazil arised. The company that acquired it couldn’t pay it. Thalassa went ahead and bought the equipment that manages to launch a concrete with slump 3, a very low slump!!! The world´s best option for execution of airport pavements. It changed its corporate name to PH Enterprise, Import & Export Ltd. in order to be able to import Germany resins, from USA and increase the range of products and solutions offered to the market.

In 2009 Thalassa acquired 9 lapping machines with their vacuum cleaners to execute the floor lapping processes just as the pre-established international procedures requires. The following year purchased its tenth equipment and imported two high-performance vacuum cleaners used in maximum degree work requirements in the USA.

In 2011, with changes in cement formulations, Thalassa decided to acquire one of the few floor cutters for “green concrete” high depth Soff Cuts of Brazil in order to ensure the anticipation of floor cuts executed by the working teams.

Present nationwide for more than 24 years, Thalassa performs industrial floors with more effectiveness in the States of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná, its business is to offer what’s best on the world market in terms of paving.
